Food is a very important part of any event, particularly here in the Pacific where it plays a significant role in the culture of the people. 

There are no specialized Wedding Caters here in Fiji but there are a number of companies that do ‘Outside Catering' in that they are able to cater to venues outside of hotels & restaurants. 

If you are getting married at a resort the general rule is that all catering is done by the property. Weddings at home or in a hired hall give you a bit more flexibility with regards to supplier options and in many cases are generally cheaper. Choosing the right cater is very important, make sure you ask around before deciding on who you use.

Previous experience, full service catering facilities and great tasting food are the keen things to look for in a caterer.

CAKES 

It's your wedding, you can have what you want as your wedding cake, be it cupcakes, mud cake or cheese cake.

In the case of your wedding cake I recommend firstly deciding on what you both want, if the groom wants chocolate cake and you want cheese cake no problem, you can have a two tier cake everybody is happy.

Wedding cakes can become quite costly so decide on how much you want to spend on it early on and try and stick to it best you can.
